I can't believe Newsweek published this piece, but Bravo! No new wars! Defend our own borders first. I like reading your stuff. I hear your voice (which I can't get enough of!) and I sometimes need to break out the dictionary...learning is good. Bottom line, you are correct. The elegant answer is the right answer. Peace and diplomacy get my vote.

Defend Ukraine's sovereignty? Brought to you by the same globalists who want to remake the international system in their own image by eliminating western civilization's concepts of God, individual rights and freedoms, and the sovereignty of nation states - all the while lining their own pockets.

Masterfully written, on-point insight to strategies and motives from all angles, and spiced with enough wit and snark to properly infuse humor into truth. My favorite being, “Well, Putin himself, of course, who will be able to publicly campaign on his defense of Russian sovereignty and security in the face of NATO tanks adorned with rainbow flags.”

This is an example of what it takes to get the message over the heads of the mainstream media. We need more of this getting out to the masses in prime time.

Cheers.

Bold idea….changing most of a century of political positioning regarding Russia. Probably not gonna happen. But we also once thought the UK leaving the EU was nigh impossible.

The United States likely could have had Russia as a bulwark against China years ago, when the Soviet Union collapsed. Unfortunately, the Republican Establishment of the time lacked the foresight to do so, preferring instead to cling to their anti-Russian rhetoric as they continually congratulated themselves on the demise of the USSR.

Now the Dems & RINO Republicans want to stick their noses into the current Russian/Ukrainian conflict--a conflict which, by the way, has lasted generations. I know, because my family on both sides emanates from that bloody land. A war with Russia. In winter. Goodness, what a GREAT idea! What could possibly go wrong?

I look forward to hearing General Milley explain to his woke troops why we're supporting the side whose helmets bear Nazi emblems. (Perhaps that's why the Germans offered new ones? Ukraine might want to take them up on that offer, before too many pictures get out & people start asking "WTF??").

Fantastic. I wish you had included the question: " why would we trust Biden knowing his family's corrupt dealings with the factions in the Ukraine?" Quid Pro braggart Joe. Biden is so morally bankrupt that he does not think twice about sacrificing others in order to protect his family's interests.

100%. I don't know if it will reach the left who are too busy hiding from covid.

You didn't go with Biden being compromised with his years of money laundering through Ukraine. Granted, that issue won't help convince lefties who still love Yovanovitch and Vindman.

Keep hammering!

Orwell didn't go far enough to describe the wicked Biden regime.

We just lost to a bunch of goat herders, but now Brandon wants to take on Russia and China at the same time. Tommy Shelby of Peaky Blinders had a nice speech like your Orwell quote: “But I've learnt something in the last few days. Those bastards. Those BASTARDS… are worse than us. Politicians, fucking judges, lords and ladies. They're WORSE than us, and they will never admit us to their palaces, no matter how legitimate we become because of who we are. Because of who we fucking are, because of where we're fucking from… Our Ada knows. She got smart about revolution. And she knows you have to get what you want your own way…. And the rest of you, you took the King's shilling. You took the King's fucking shilling. When you take the King's shilling, the King expects you to kill.”

Not my monkeys, not my circus. Joseph Brandon and those monkeys need to personally fight for them, since they "care" so much.

A repeat of what so many are saying, protect our borders first. Of course, that will not protect the Biden's Ukraine cash cow.

Just a few thoughts not mentioned here ! I am an immigrant from the Baltic States so hating Russians is in my DNA ! But having taught Russian History I try to be objective. Some things one should consider :

Putin is not Russia ( Navalny is Russia - his father fought in WWII ). Do not forget several country wide demonstrations against his rule. Without the FSB he would not survive.

The average Russian does not spend sleepless nights worrying about a NATO invasion. Putin needs NATO as a straw man to justify his aggression. I do not think we should go to war but we could have supported the Ukranians with more arms ( as Trump did, and Obama / Biden did not ). Appeasement never works. We never seem to learn this.

Russians are racists. They hate the "dark" people from the Stans who filtered into Russia during the Soviet era. And they dislike the Chinese. Siberia is not densely populated and the Chinese are certainly eyeing those vast empty spaces just across the river. This could be where Russia and the USA can agree to be a bulwark against Chinese expansion.

And if we say that the USA will support only countries with governments that are not corrupt then which countries are we left with ? Remember Chiang Kai Shek ? Many Liberals then said we should not support him because he was corrupt ! How did that turn out ? Hello Mao ! We could not support Batista and so we got the Castro brothers ! By this standard we should not support the current US administration ! Ukraine is corrupt, just like all the ex-Communist countries, but they are better than the alternative of becoming Putin's vassal state !

There are no easy answers but appeasement is not one. The old Roman general still rings true " If you want peace, then prepare for war ! " Trump understood, Obama/Biden does not.
