Can We Skip to the Good Part?

One thing that has always shown that the English ruling class are morally fairly sound, is that in time of war they are ready enough to get themselves killed.... What is to be expected of them is not treachery or physical cowardice, but stupidity, unconscious sabotage, an infallible instinct for doing the wrong thing. With this in mind, I wrote an op-ed for Newsweek (yes, Newsweek!) about the insatiable establishment appetite for war in Ukraine, but also an alternative resolution.

We’ve seen this movie before. A decades-long war, and inevitably, after the enrichment of Lockheed Martin and others, a return to the status quo ante (at best).

So, you know, to pinch from that TikTok song – can we skip to the good part?
