As an IT professional for 40 years, I cringe when I read the limited technical details coming out in various news stories about the Dominion voting systems. Absolutely flabbergasted that these systems are still in use. Stunned over counties literally outsourcing the election to Dominion staffers and equipment that is seriously flawed.
Do you have any knowledge as to whether the Dominion source code was developed using open source approach/code elements and whether it has been forensically examined by independent experts? I can’t find any evidence of this happening.
The problem is the enormous gap between technology and those who do not understand it. The election boards outsourced to Dominion who ran the election on their behalf. The election board had no clue how awful things were and blindly trusted the vendor. Meanwhile the vendor is using Windows with no network restrictions, no patches for over a year, software that's closed source and never audited by independent 3rd parties. Shared passwords between users. The laptops had MS SQL Server Tools installed which means someone who understands Sequential Query Language could launch a prompt, enter the password which everyone knew as it never changed. Then alter the database tables to change votes, bypassing the software entirely along with any potential audit logging. If connected to the Internet a hacker could do the same thing. The passwords were ridiculously weak ones that could have been broken with little effort. On top of that there was always one person examining ballot scan images that were rejected by the software. That one person without any bipartisan review process could alter the failed ballot and submit it to the system. They could fix (change) the vote! When it should have been just rejected as invalid. Not to mention the tens of thousands of mail-in ballots being received at 2am via the backdoor after most staffers were sent home and a skeleton crew processed them. Thus resulting in a massive swing in the middle of the night. All the ballots were supposed to be collected long before. Any ballots discovered after the deadline should have been discarded or set aside. Also no signature checks were being performed. There are scan images that showed the same signature on thousands of ballots! The signatures were not even close to the ones on file. Too many problems with the entire process and the handling of vote tabulation.
The name is the nature, as the old rule of exegesis goes. "Dominion" is about exerting power by force, by trickery, and by corruption, until there is no liberty left.
Dominion could now assert FNN discovery forcing involuntary full disclosure of product resulted in harming business, rather than the actual tepid news reporting, haha. They would yet again be grasping at straws. Have only themselves to blame. But we as voters/citizens have actual harms by the use of their products. Who is the decision maker in each State deciding to use these systems? Why would a State purchase such an unreliable system? Recovery of costs, plus damages? Each citizen has standing, IMHO, to file for harms from using these systems, from using public money to purchase the systems, and for denying the voters the uncorrupted voter count. What money does Dominion spread around to grease the contract process? Follow the money?
